Pathanjali Yoga team helps flood victims

A 30-member team of Sri Pathanjali Yoga Sikshana Samithi (Regd) Karnataka, under the leadership of Sri Ramaswamy Anna and Sri Kaipu Seshadri Anna proceeded to visit the Flood affected areas in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, on 9th October 2009. The team consisted of 17 members from Bangalore and 13 members from Chelekere (Chitradurga Dist). They visited the most affected areas of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh and Raichur District in Karnataka. They went in two lorries with rice, oil, salt, cloth, blankets, towels, mosquito coils etc to help the affected people, and distributed them personally. These things were bought with the money donated by the yoga students and teachers.

It is considered as Andhra Pradesh's worst-in-a-century floods claiming several lives and crores of loss.

Many of these members had fondly remembered the special time they had spent in Krishna River during their tour in April-May. The yoga team returned on the evening of 12th October with wounded hearts seeing the situation of the affected areas.









This is one of the few houses which remained after the calamity. See the damage occurred.







The ceiling of this house was washed out from its original place because of the force of the water.
